Impact Measurement & Climate Finance

Thursday 24 September · Globant offices, 251 Park Avenue · late morning

The week closes on the question that decides whether the rest of it matters: what does it take for climate performance to move capital?

A GeSI white paper opens with the investment case for modernising AI infrastructure in the United States — building the next generation of capacity without locking in the emissions of the last one. The session then turns to what investors actually ask for: which metrics survive due diligence, and where the gap sits between what companies report and what capital allocators can use.

The harder problem is avoided emissions. A digital solution can cut emissions far beyond its own footprint, but no formal accounting category captures that, so the value goes unrecognised and the investment is not made. Closing that gap is the mandate of the European Green Digital Coalition.

The track closes by looking forward, to COP31 and the UN Solutions Hub.
